Background:We would like to invite applicants for PRIHSM-sponsored Early-Stage Investigator (ESI) Collaboration Travel Awards. These awards are intended to support ESIs in the development of collaborations that enhance their own professional development and PRIHSM’s research. The awards may support ESIs from Stanford to visit other organizations or ESIs from other organizations to visit Stanford. Other organizations may include (but are not limited to) other IMPROVE Maternal Health Research Centers of Excellence sites or hubs, other existing NIH network sites (e.g., MFMU, NRN, MPRINT), or community partner organizations. These awards will support PRIHSM’s research capacity development efforts and enhance research and professional development for ESIs. The awards will sponsor travel to develop projects that support the mission of PRIHSM

Funding will support domestic or international travel costs including airfare, per diem, ride share/transportation, and lodging. We anticipate supporting 1-3 work weeks in residence at the collaborator’s institution, with an average of $5,000 per award. We anticipate providing around 3 total awards per year (totaling $15,000 per year in support).

Travel must be completed by July 25, 2026. The deadline for application submission is December 8, 2025. Selected recipients will be notified on or before December 18, 2025. Awardees will be asked to provide receipts for travel.
